Person-Centred Counselling in Edinburgh

A calm and supportive space to talk openly, feel heard, and explore what’s going on in your life.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for somewhere to think things through, counselling can help you reconnect with your own clarity, strength and direction.

Hello, I’m Joy.

I’m a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, with a background in health, movement, and therapeutic work.

My approach is gentle, relational, and grounded in the belief that lasting change happens when we feel truly heard and accepted.

I offer a supportive space to explore what’s going on for you — without judgement or pressure. Together, we take time to understand your experience, helping you reconnect with your own sense of clarity, strength, and self-direction.

Everyone’s situation is different, so sessions are offered in a way that feels comfortable and supportive for you.

Taking the first step can feel like a big decision. Many people come to counselling when they are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply wanting space to think things through.

I offer a calm and confidential space where you can talk openly about what’s going on in your life. Together, we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you, helping you reconnect with your own clarity, strength and sense of direction.

If you’re wondering whether counselling might be right for you, an initial conversation can be a helpful place to begin.

  • One-to-one therapy offers a confidential space where you can speak openly and be met with understanding, without judgement or pressure.

  • Online counselling allows us to work together from the comfort of your own space. It offers flexibility and continuity, while still creating a meaningful and supportive connection.

  • Walk and talk therapy offers a gentle, more natural way of working together. Instead of sitting face to face in a room, we walk side by side outdoors, allowing conversation to unfold more freely.
